Head Coach & Director Cindi Lou Villa

Cindi Lou-Villa's field hockey career began as a player at Kearny High School in San Diego, California, where she participated in the first CIF playoffs in San Diego. She shared the Most Valuable Player of the year with her best friend. She then went on to play field hockey at San Diego State University where she received one of five scholarships awarded. Her collegiate career consisted of playing on two Western Athletic Conference Championship teams that received berths to the regional playoffs. After college she was a member of the San Diego Field Hockey Association and a player with the Pacific Southwest Regional team. That team won two national championships--one with the 1979 Pacific Southwest Women's team and one with the 1984 San Diego Field Hockey Co-ed team. She was also a member of the 2007 Green Card team that won the Gold Medal in the Competitive Women's Division at the California Cup tournament. + read more...

Catherine Villa

Washington & Jefferson University -- Poway High School Alumni

Catherine Villa graduated from Washington & Jefferson College in Pennsylvania with a double major in Art and Graphic Design.  She was a member of the both the field hockey and water polo teams for four years.  During her tenure the field hockey team won the Empire 8 Championship and the water polo team had its highest win loss record of all time.  Cat was named to the the DIII All American team for two years and the CWPA All Tournament team for 3 years.  While in San Diego, Cat was a member of the Poway High School Titan Athletics where she received the "Most Distinguished Athlete" form the Marine Corps.  She was also named to the CIF Team, Palomar League and Serra Optimist All Tournament team.  She is also a member of the Mystix club team and now plays for their Competitive Women's team.  Coach Lou states, "Cat is an intense coach and she has great technical skills that she is able to teach in both a group and individual basis."

Ashley Johnson

Frostburg University -- Poway High School Alumni

Ashley Johnson is currently a member of the Frostburg State University field hockey team located in the state of Maryland.  She is a junior and majoring in the field of Physical Therapy.  While in San Diego, Ashley was a member of the Poway High School field hockey team where she received the Coach's Award and was Most Valuable Player her Junior and Senior Year.  She was also selected to the the CIF Team and Palomar League 1st Team.  She has been a member of the Mystix club team and now plays for their Competitive Women's team.  Coach Lou states, "Ashley has a keen sense of the game and is excellent at seeing the strategic pieces of the game and how to correct and resolve them."

Hartwick College -- Del Norte High School Alumni

Alex Godina played for Hartwick College in New York.  She was a integral part of the team and added a new dynamic to their game.   She is currently majoring in Business Administration.  While in San Diego, she was a member of the Del Norte High School team and the team won the Avocado East League Championships and always in the top four of the Division II CIF Championships.  Alex was also named to the CIF Second team two years in a row and received the the Offensive Most Valuable Player award.   Coach Lou states, "Alex is a very knowledgeable coach with both great tactics and theory.  She is a very intelligent coach!"
